Praised for his “signature warm sound” (Palm Beach Daily News), Edward Thomas Bland is a rising American baritone hailing from Morganton, North Carolina.

A lover of both Opera and song, he prides himself on being comfortable on both the operatic stage and in the recital hall. Edward’s most recent operatic engagements include serving as a Resident Artist with Palm Beach Opera, where he sang the main-stage roles of Cesare Angelotti in Puccini’s Tosca, and Hermann and Schlémil in Offenbach’s Les contes d’Hoffmann. While at Palm Beach, he also performed in PBO’s esteemed scenes program, performing scenes as Marcello in Puccini’s La bohème, and Mandryka in Strauss’ Arabella, under the direction of Paul Curran. Edward’s most recent song engagements include a professional fellowship at Songfest (2022), where he collaborated closely with Martin Katz and Graham Johnson, participating in the Wigmore Hall/Bollinger International Song Competition (2022), and performing his first Winterreise (2022). Edward is a graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne University (BM), and the Eastman School of Music (MM).
